Quien ama, no juzga.
Mi madre me educó.

I've been trying to keep quiet about this, but I just can't hold it in anymore. In what world are we living? The new generation spends more time in front of a display than in the world that surrounds them. Parents are avoiding their responsibilities, they are permitting the television and the media to raise their kids, and then are mad and argue with their behavior, because they don't understand why their children behave the way they do.
I think that the drop that spilled the glass of my patience was a shared picture by a Facebook friend, that stated: "It's sad how a mother can take care of 10 children... And 10 children can't take care of 1 mother". My reaction was literally: "Really?". It seems to me that the mother mentioned that "cared" for 10 children wasn't capable of educating them. Don't get me wrong, I'm not stating that she was a bad mother, it's really probable that the mother did many sacrifices for her children. What parents have disregarded is that educating is part of caring for heir children. Everything is taught in this life. Children absorb everything from their parents, like a sponge absorbs water.
Manners, loving, hearing other's opinions, questioning others without disrespecting, being patient, seeking wisdom and intelligence, Being humble, honest, transparent, and above all being tolerant, not judging and loving others, are things to be taught by parents.
Everyday I convince myself more that love is the answer to all the problems of our society, and it simply doesn't want to see it. Those who love, respect. Those who love, forgive. Those who love, don't judge. Those who love, appraise.
My mother has 3 daughters, 3 jobs, and trust me, when she can no longer look after us, we will fight to ensure her well-being, as she raised us to do so. She taught us the importance of respecting elders, of listening to them, of finding beauty in their complaints of pain, after all each one of their pains have a story- lesson to us all, that can benefit us at some point of our lives. She taught us that although sometimes she might not tell us why we can't do something, there will be a time when we will learn it. I think the greatest lesson she gave us was love. Love based on trust and respect. Trust gave us a voice to express our ideas and respect led us to understand that although we spoke Mom's voice was the one who gave the last word.
I've been living almost 2 years away from home and in many occasions I've found myself in situations which have placed me at crossroads between what I should and have to do. The confidence that I've developed with my mother over the years have helped me support my decisions of abstaining from doing x or y things that after all would only have hurt me. The freedom I feel for being able to tell my mother literally anything, and knowing she won't judge me, even if she disagrees with me, but will advice me towards my well-being, is priceless.
I'm a blessed young woman. My mother took the responsibility and challenge of being a mother over anything else.
My mother educated me.
